4 Trends Taking Over Kitchens

The Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute has spotted four hot trends to watch out for in new kitchens:

  1. 50 SHADES OF GREY While the classic white kitchen will always be in style, deeper greys are stepping into the spotlight in Australian kitchens. Keep an eye out for “almost black” browns and greys making their way into cabinetry, benchtops, and appliances.

  2. WARM UP WHITE White kitchens are still going strong, but some are getting a cozy upgrade with gorgeous timber accents. Think planked timber and eye-catching veneers that add warmth and texture, taking the chill off all-white designs.

  3. STATEMENT SPLASHBACKS Tiles, tiles, and more tiles! From magnificent mosaics and recycled glass to Moroccan-inspired patterns and bold geometrics, splashbacks are where the fun really happens. For those who love glass but hate grout, new tech even lets you add personal photos or artwork to create your own unique design.

  4. MARVELLOUS MARBLE Thanks to tech and timeless materials, marble like Calcatta Oro and Statuarlo is stealing the show. If you’re worried about upkeep, don’t fret—there are durable man-made alternatives that look like real stone but require less maintenance.
